Falling Flat

The Guardian's cartoonist Steve Bell stirred up a bit of a hornet's nest with this recent offering on the political scene in Scotland which pokes fun at the prospect of a Westminster Coalition between the SNP and Labour.

Now part of Steve's stock-in-trade is to portray politicians in an unflattering light and to be fair he does the same to all political parties and their leaders.

But what left me scratching my head was the reference to 'incest' which seems a bit odd to say the least. 

The point about political comment cartoons is that they're supposed to be funny and this clearly isn't one of Steve's better efforts.
