Spending Public Money

I received a letter through the post the other day from my local Westminster MP, Anas Sarwar, the Labour member for Glasgow Central.

Now the letter is ostensibly about the great success of the Commonwealth Games which were held in Glasgow recently.

But nowhere in his lengthy tome does Mr Sarwar mention either the Scottish Government or Glasgow City Council which came as a great surprise, I have to say, because both organisations rose to the occasion magnificently - they did Glasgow and Scotland proud.

Instead giving credit where credit is due, the letter rambles on interminably about how Mr Sarwar will ensure that the Games 'legacy' is secured though quite how he will do this is a great mystery since all of the issue he talks about are the responsibility of the Scottish Parliament and the City Council, not the Westminster Parliament.

So if you ask me Mr Sarwar's letter is self-serving, ridiculous and a terrible waste of public money, especially as it appears to have been sent to every single household in the Glasgow Central constituency.

Another good reason to vote Yes!
